Established, mid-sized Real Estate company seeks a Senior Accountant for their Real Estate group. This is a growth-oriented role that works closely with other groups such as joint venture accounting, property development and management, and the executive team.
In essence, you will be a Controller for each property in your portfolio. You?ll prepare the financial statements, account recs, budget and variance analysis, and any other special projects that arise relating to your properties.
We strongly prefer a CPA, but it?s not required. This is an excellent position for someone looking to move from public to corporate accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare monthly GAAP financial statements, including variance analysis, for properties in your portfolio
Prepare Statement of Cash Flow as well as cash forecasts
Finalize budgets and communicate numbers to business units
Work with Treasury to ensure that cash requirements are met
Review partnership and debt agreements as well as new lease agreements
Work with team, including property managers and joint venture partners to ensure completeness of transactions
Calculate management fees and other expenses
Assist in helping junior accountant gain greater understanding of accounting and reporting
Special projects such as integrating acquired entities into existing company format
REQUIREMENTS:
BS Accounting, CPA strongly preferred
At least 3 years in public accounting (audit) and/or corporate accounting
Ability to communicate and interact professionally with all levels within the organization
Flexibly personality to work on a variety of tasks
Desire to participate in meetings and other discussions relating to your portfolio
