Data Analyst Job Opening in Paterson, New Jersey - Data Analyst position description: the data analyst will apply developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business data issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. the candidate will work on problems/projects of diverse data complexity and scope and exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. key responsibilities include: -create and manage enterprise data models with logical and physical views -build, manage, and maintain a data dictionary and data lineage for various functional areas of business and applications -collect, organize, and analyze data using data profiling and data analysis tools such as informatica, or by writing custom sql queries -ingest data from disparate systems using data integration tools or writing custom code in sql, python, or other scripting languages -identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. -work with the functional business area to identify, gather, investigate, and document business processes related to data architecture -visualize data insights using data visualization tools such as tableau, power bi, or qlikview. knowledge, skills and competencies: -bachelor?s degree required -4+ years of data analysis experience -proficient in sql, data analysis, advanced excel and report development -experience in data migration and automation using ssis ssas -experience with powerbi or similar data visualization tools -knowledge of data warehouse concepts and modeling techniques -strategic and analytical thinker with the ability to understand future data needs and create a vision for how to meet those needs -excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues to both technical and business users in a clear and concise manner -ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital -basic understanding of finance accounting processes -experience working with non-technical staff, demonstrating ability to translate non-technical requirements into a technical specification.\nfor immediate consideration, please submit your resume to
