Sales Representative Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Vinum -- a Wine, Spirits, Beer, and Sake distributor based in Seattle and serving Washington, Oregon, and Idaho -- is seeking a full-time, qualified Sales Representative in Oregon.
Sales Representative
Reports to: District Manager
Objective: To represent Vinum, selling our products to an assigned account list, meeting or exceeding company sales goals.
Primary Location: Portland
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Servicing existing accounts: presenting new products, obtaining orders, resolving complaints, building relationships, and Vinum?s reputation.
Responsible for selling all areas of Vinum?s portfolio ? with heavy focus on wine and beer ? and developing knowledge of all product areas, as necessary.
Scouting for and opening new accounts.
Planning ahead and following through with an organized work calendar.
Executing orders efficiently and accurately based on the delivery needs of each account and Vinum?s order processing and delivery schedule.
Assisting customers with reset?s, product information, staff training, and POS.
Attending regular sales meetings, product trainings, and supplier events.
Submitting any reporting required by management.
Monitoring competition in the market by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, and delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
Recommending changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
Expanding professional and technical knowledge constantly by attending educational events, spending sales days with suppliers, and reviewing professional publications.
Contributing to the maintenance of Vinum?s supplier relationships.
Assisting in review of customer credit and collections of accounts receivables, ensuring that all accounts are up to date on payments, and resolving any open A/R issues.
Contributing to sales team effort by as directed by District Manager.
Special projects and/or other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Strong aptitude to work with deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs on occasion.
Entrepreneurial, hardworking, self-motivated and enthusiastic, able to provide exceptional customer service.
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven ability to multi-task and maintain organization.
Excellent account prospecting and sales closing skills.
Comprehensive understanding of wine, such as regions/varietals, product and food pairing techniques.
Current product knowledge and market knowledge.
Goal driven and excellent negotiation skills.
1-3 years of sales and industry related experience within the distribution, hospitality, or supplier community.
Possess a dependable vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of state registration and insurance
Qualified candidates are subject to background and drug screening prior to hire.
