Part-time Optometry Reception/ Optometric Technician Job Opening in South Jordan, Utah - At Modern Vision located inside the South Jordan Costco, our office offers state of the art technology in eye exams. We are looking for help in providing excellent customer service to our patients to treat them with kindness and respect while providing the best care possible. We need help to:
Promptly greet patients with a smile at the front desk
Answer phones
Schedule appointments using our computer system
Appropriately triage appointments for patients with eye related emergencies
Accurately document patient interactions
Verify vision benefits/insurance prior to patients arriving for their exams
Begin eye examinations: clean instruments, record patient medical history, safely pretest patients with clear instruction using technical instruments, accurately record data
Communicate clearly with patients, doctors and coworkers
Retrieve prescribed contact lenses to dispense trials to patients after examinations
Provide contact lens training to include: insertion and removal of contact lenses, contact lens hygiene, teach signs and symptoms of eye infections with instruction of what to do if one occurs
Review instructions for patient treatment plans for various conditions
Coordinate referrals to other specialists as needed
Collect payments/ co-payments for exams
Submit insurance claims
Maintain a clean and sanitary office environment appropriate for healthcare
Maintain contact lens trials inventory, ordering and restocking lenses as needed
Required work experience and skills:
1-2 years experience in an office or healthcare environment
Great communication skills both in person and over the phone
Friendly and positive attitude
Ability and willingness to learn about eyecare
Organized with attention to details
Basic to intermediate computer skills
Job Specifics:
Part-time: 15-30 hours weekly

Must be willing to work Saturdays
