Job Summary:
We are seeking an exceptional sales leader to join our team as the Manager of our Sales Department. In addition to requisite passion, skills and experience, the successful candidate will have a measurable track record in building and managing high performing sales organizations. This individual will play a key role driving a significant share of revenue for Shore Power.
The Sales Manager?s primary responsibilities will be to manage and develop a team of sales professionals, and to develop new, and enhance existing relationships with key channel partners. The Manager is responsible for developing and executing the overall short and long term sales strategies and evaluating the effectiveness of current sales programs. The position will require sales, problem solving, communication, leadership and marketing skills to grow sales.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Exceptionally strong coach; hands on with the team; very involved with account planning, strategy and sales calls.
Lead from the front: be able to do everything that you expect your team to do and set the pace.
Creation and execution of development plans for each team member. Recruit, hire and train new sales staff as needed.
Maintain and expand current business through effective support, service and account management.
Develop and execute profitable business plans and implement those plans. Strategically plan customer programs and cultivate relationships.
Monitor and evaluate the activities and products of the competition.
Team with key departments within the organization to communicate account plans, pricing and coordinate support to drive sales.
Participate in local and national trade shows.
Display the highest level of integrity and professionalism in all aspects of performance.
Qualities:
Strong combination of strategic thinking and tactical implementation skills; must be a leader and strong motivator, team-player
Capable of analyzing a variety of complex situations and affecting an appropriate course of action
Must have strong managerial, planning, and execution skills while holding others accountable
Excellent verbal/written communication, sales/marketing, and presentation skills Ability to navigate and build relationships in and outside the organization
Education & Experience:
7+ years of commodity sales experience.
5+ years of experience managing a sales team.
3+ years of national/key accounts management experience.
BS/BA in related discipline preferred.
Proven track record of successful sales management and deal closing.
Understanding of distribution of both commodity and consumer packaged goods as well as retail/reseller markets are a major plus.
Experience developing contracts and managing independent outside sales is a major plus.
