Physician Assistant Job Opening in Phoenix, Arizona - TOCA is looking for a PA to join the group. This PA will be primarily tied to orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports injuries, fractures, and joint replacement including joint revision surgery.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform comprehensive and problem focused histories and physical exams, interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests. Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic conditions within the scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions as appropriate. Exercise judgment on conditions requiring consultation, referral or evaluation by the supervising physician or other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
Order, collect and perform appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspiration and injections of joints, bursas and cysts. Apply casts, braces and other orthopedic appliances.
Assist in the surgical suite including deep and superficial wound closure, application of internal devices and other procedures as delegated by the supervising physician.
Conduct hospital rounds, write orders and evaluate patients in an emergency setting for the orthopedic surgeon. Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients.

& KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
Graduate of an accredited Physician?s Assistant?s Program and accreditation by the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed in the state of Arizona.
The candidate should have a minimum of four years of experience; preferably in orthopedics.
