About the Role:
We are currently seeking a full-time Architectural Products Sales Consultant to influence commercial project activity with key architects, specifiers, designers and contractors. The primary focus is to expand and expedite the adoption of DuPont? Corian® solid surface and DuPont? Zodiaq® quartz surface sales of products and systems in the Baltimore / DC / northern Virginia area.
Ideal candidate will have experience selling interior finishes to the architectural design community and have a proven track record of engaging key decision makers through successful integration of design, products and systems into a building project for specification through order placement.
Strategy
Research and evaluate planned and potential construction activities; identifying large, profitable opportunities in target markets for pursuit
Promote designated products and systems through creative technical and promotional calls on customers to generate demand. Customers include A&D, developers, owners, facilities, general contractors, and trade associations
Manage an effective sales process from qualify through close.
Plan and conduct promotional and educational meetings to increase product exposure and demand
Prepare account plans to meet sales targets and maintain or develop the relationship with Customers
Maintain a database of key projects and Customers for assigned territory.
Support Company?s common goals by working with sales team members, cross functional working with other teams, and proactively participating and delivering on commitments
Engagement
Develop rapport with all assigned accounts to gain knowledge up front on all applicable opportunities.
Works closely with clients on current and upcoming opportunities on projects where products can be specified.
Works closely with customers in developing new product/solutions and is viewed as expert in this field.
Confers with customers on product application opportunities and provides assistance with solutions.
Structure
Through use of CRM, evaluate opportunities assigned for specification of products. Seek to accomplish proprietary specification whenever possible.
Update data base with all current information and move opportunities through appropriate stages to close status
Additional responsibilities include, but not limited to, participation in industry related organization and events, and CEU presentations to large groups.
Spends company money judiciously in carrying out sales activities so as to secure maximum volume of business and service to customers at a proper cost.
Obtain CSI-CDT and LEED Green Associate certifications within the first 2 years of employment.
Desired Skills and Experience
4 Year college degree preferred, or equivalent work experience
Three years or more of commercial sales experience, specification representative experience or related industry experience.
Established relationships within the Architect & Design and/or commercial construction community.
Outstanding personality with ability to develop foster meaningful business relationships and represent the company in a professional manner.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to convincingly persuade others.
Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and remotely.
Good presentation skills; must be comfortable presenting technical product information to both small and large groups.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs, prior CRM experience a plus
Ability to be on the road all day, every day visiting customers, with some overnight travel.
The ideal candidate will reside in the Baltimore/DC metro area (preferably closer to DC). Having an established network there will facilitate success in this role; relocation assistance is not available.
