POSITION TITLE: Regional Sales Manager ? East
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales and Marketing
CLASSIFICATION: Salary Exempt
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of the organization's products in a specified region or major geographical area and provides ongoing support to product distribution channel. This position provides support, training, and guidance to team of Territory Sales Managers within the regional area.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists sales representatives with organizational skills, account strategies, territory planning and administrative responsibilities to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
Develops and increases sales revenue to meet assigned targets.
Becomes actively involved in a new sales representatives sales orientation and sales training programs.
Acts as a resource to sales representatives in contract opportunities and proposals.
Assists sales representatives with contract negotiations, closing the sale and developing marketing plans for contract accounts.
Attends trade shows. Assists with the planning of sales exhibits.
Prepares and completes action plans; provides information to assist production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; identifying trends; determining regional sales system improvements; implementing change
Participates in education and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.
Coordinates and assists in leading sales meetings to include site selection and agenda preparation.
Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers.
Checks on competitive activity and develops new methods of attaining resellers and assisting resellers in attaining new accounts.
Troubleshoots problems regarding products provided.
Answers questions from sales representatives and handles complaints.
Meets regional sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; assist in preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Eight (8) years sales experience. Three (3) years management/team leadership experience.
Bachelor?s degree in Business, Sales/Marketing
Advanced training in recent sales techniques preferred.
Experience in the fiber cement and/or building materials industry preferred.

COMMENTS
This position will require up to 75% travel within the west coast region. Frequently travel is outside the local area and overnight.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the ?core? work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
