Senior Accountant Job Opening in Avon, Colorado - Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to manage and lead the accounting team for payroll, banking, general ledger, accounts receivable and accounts payable. Duties will include providing accurate and timely financial reports, employment reports, sales tax reports, process payrolls, and guide the accounts receivable and accounts payable personnel. This important team member will need to be experienced, coachable, collaborative, a quick learner, knowledgeable, productive, efficient and have a great attitude!
Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
Timely compiles and reports financial and operating results to management.
Prepares and processes the company?s payroll on a biweekly basis including 401k contributions, insurance deductions, garnishments, etc.
Must be meticulous at meeting deadlines, understanding priorities, and proactively communicating financial results to key team members.
Oversees and ensures sales, use, and income tax compliance in all current and potential future jurisdictions.
Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Secures financial information by completing data base backups and following internal controls.
Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
Desired Skills and Experience
2-3 years minimum experience.
High proficiency in general math skills, data entry management, and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, QuickBooks, other accounting programs.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or General Business.
Extremely detail oriented, high level of accuracy, detail-oriented, and excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills. English required.
High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and judgment.
Proficient reporting skills and knowledgeable of SFAS Rules
