Accounts Receivable Assistant Job Opening in Brooklyn, New york - Elegant womenswear brand is moving to Brooklyn! Brooklyn Navy Yard is seeking an energetic Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our client's team. In this role you will be responsible for working with various departments to process payments, prepare statements, and resolve expense issues. In addition, he/she will provide both internal and external account support. This role will report to the AR Manager.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and enter daily payments
Credit checking for open orders and approval to ship
Create collection calls and follow up for past due invoices, chargebacks and any additional items that correspond to the accounts receivable aging
Correspond to customer?s requests for account information
Coordinate Specialty Stores accounts issues with Sales Team
Handling web store credits, refunds and troubleshoot web credit issues
Research and dispute unauthorized deductions and chargebacks from credit card company transactions
Support Retail business and credit issues arise from Customer Care Center
Experience with POS systems a plus
Preparing monthly statements, logs and schedules
Requirements:
Minimum 2-year degree from an accredited college (Accounting degree preferred)
Accounting knowledge
1-3 years? experience (fashion or retail a must)
Strong time management (a must)
Ability to manage expectation, set deadlines and follow up on projects with a strong sense of urgency
Excellent verbal and written communication
Must be able to interact across departmental divisions
Must be extremely detail focused and a team player
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Flexible with an entrepreneurial drive and ability to act independently
Must be analytical and have strong Excel skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office required
