Qualifications:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or directly related study required.
A minimum of four years of progressive accounting experience, including payroll, preferably in a
Non for Profit setting preferred.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License required.
Proficient with computers and computer applications including, Excel, Word, and Access.
Proficient with G.A.A.P. and F.A.S.B.
High verbal and written communication skills.
High organizational skills.
Ability to carry out tasks with a high degree of independence.
Ability to work effectively with the Board of Directors, management, clinical and support staff
and with external partners and vendors.
Must possess a valid NYS driver?s license.
Proficiency in New York State fiscal reporting.
Must be able to visually inspect financial documents and inspect areas such as safes and files.
Must be or become proficient with M.I.P. Accounting Software.
Job Description:
This position will oversee the accounting and fiscal control functions, including, but not limited to, receivables, payables, payroll, billing, budget development and oversight of finance/support staff as required and reporting the results of fiscal operations. Develop and oversee the implementation of accounting practices and preparation of operating data. Supervise Accountant and related staff. Provide training needs and recommendations. In conjunction with CFO and Finance Director, assists in coordinating proposed finance changes within the agency. Coordinate with Accountant the functions of accounting system on a regular basis. Provides other managers and departments with finance related information required by them to carry out the assigned responsibilities. Assures protection for the assets of the agency through internal control, internal auditing, and assists with risk management. Assist with control of price bidding and assures that all accounting activities are followed according to policy with the annual audit, OASAS, OMH,DOH, HUD, and other regulatory agency rules. Other duties as assigned.
