Description:
Prepares and reviews new business and renewal employer group quotations ensuring timeliness and accuracy
Support underwriting activities, by preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders of the organization
Intakes work and prepares templates with customer-specific information
Verifies accuracy and completeness of information received for proposal and renewal quotes
Follows up to obtain missing information or clarifications on information
Produces accurate and timely rate quotes for proposals and renewals using established department guidelines.
Assists with processing utilization reports and analyzing employer group renewals to ensure premium pricing is at appropriate level(s)
Queries data via Excel Template, Structured Query Language (SQL), QNXT, Crystal Reports, Access and other proprietary software to prepare rate quotes or reports
Updates and maintains Department reports, queries and databases
Verifies accuracy of own calculations and reviews calculations done by others through peer review
Tracks status and completion of assigned work
Maintains and secures confidential, personal and proprietary business information
Perform other duties as assigned by Manager
Requirements:
High School Diploma
Minimum of six (6) months of work experience
Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel, Access, and databases
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Critical thinker
Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide as well as apply percentage changes, fractions and proportions manually and using a calculator
Able to function independently and collaboratively in the investigation of available information
Ability to manage several concurrent projects and tasks and prioritize accordingly to meet Department timelines
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor degree from an accredited university/college
Work experience in group rating for health insurance
Proficient in Microsoft Excel statistical functions and macros
Prior experience with Microsoft Access, SQL or other database query language
Pay Rate: $17.65/hour
