Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant Job Opening in Media, Pennsylvania - New Direction Capital, which provides virtual CFO services to its clients, is recruiting for an energetic and confident individual to join the team as a Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant. Working directly with the CFO, the Bookkeeper / Staff Accountant will be heavily involved client month-end close process and preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet/P&L reconciliations. The ideal candidate will be an extremely tech savvy, experienced bookkeeper with fluency in QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks Online.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconcile daily cash activities and bank statements
Create and modify financial reports on the accounting software
Perform general accounting functions as required
Prepare general ledger entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and prepare and analyze financial data. Update and maintain general ledger chart of accounts
Assist/prepare various accounting and financial spreadsheets
Coordinate month end and year-end closing process
Coordinate activity on capital leases/loans
Review and file end of year IRS 1099 reports for clients
Recommend more accurate and efficient procedures for all accounting functions
Ensure that confidentiality regarding company, clients, or vendors is not disclosed to anyone except as authorized
Education & Experience
Associates or Bachelor?s degree in accounting preferred
2 to 4 years of bookkeeping experience
Excellent computer skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
QuickBooks and/or QuickBooks online skills required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Experience with P&L analysis and understanding of accounting basics
Ability to maintain, create, and understand complex spreadsheets and database applications
Ability to apply accounting principles, practices, and techniques
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills required
Possess highest standards of accuracy and attention to detail in a dynamic, multitasking environment
Capacity to work with limited supervision, independently and as a team member
Self-motivation and initiative to improve processes, resolve uncertainties and drive results
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication with all levels of organization
Ability to convey financial information, insights and different perspectives
Outstanding work ethic and ability to identify opportunities, prioritize and achieve
Experience in a highly confidential working environment and exercising discretion
Exceptional organizational skills and critical attention to detail and deadlines
