Software Development Manager NO H1's Job Opening in Scottsdale, Arizona - Position: Software Development Manager
Reports To: Vice President Information Systems
FLSA Status: Exempt
Goal: Manage a full stack software development team in the design and development of computer application solutions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans, assigns and directs the activities of software developers involved in the design, development and systems analysis functions required to maintain and create new application solutions.
Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the Analyst/Developers.
Maintain a qualified staff
Communicate areas of accountability and performance
Determine standards of performance as a basis to review progress
Recommend salary adjustments. transfers, promotions and dismissals
Ensure proper training
Foster a cooperative and harmonious working climate conductive to maximize employee morale and productivity
Reviews performance of applications to ensure program efficiency, program documentation and to ensure that the output meets the needs of user departments.
Provides regular reports to the management showing status of project development and/or completion.
Enforce appropriate procedures, administrative controls, and quality assurance procedures.
Set and monitor standards for project development and tool usage.
Research and deploy appropriate systems development methods and tools as instructed by management.
Ensure analyst/developers understand key operational systems with appropriate cross-training.
Enforcement of systems design methods, standards, and key design decisions.
Enforcement of data architecture and the integrity of the enterprise database.
Manage relationships with both external and internal auditors, arranging for resources, information and documentation as requested.
Provide technical information and advice to National Accounts management
Enforcement of web architecture and the integrity of the enterprise web services and applications.
Provide technical information and advice to National Accounts management regarding OEM systems development issues
Provide emergency assistance when any IS operational related problem occurs.
Maintain application compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
Any other duties that can be safely performed as requested by manager.
Qualifications:
Education
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems with emphasis of study in systems analysis and design of software solutions. Master?s degree in related field preferred.
Any equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience that fulfills the requirements of the position will be considered.
Experience
Minimum ten years? experience with systems analysis, systems design, relational database design, and computer software programming
Minimum of eight years? experience with Website and Web-Services development
Minimum of eight years J2EE tools and environments
Minimum of three years in an agile development environment
Minimum of three years? experience as a technical lead

Agile Coach and/or Scrum Master desirable
Software/Equipment to be used
Eclipse, Java, Javascript, AngularJS, REST, JSON, Spring Framework, Struts 2, Bootstrap, JDeveloper, Weblogic and OAS servers, Oracle database, Oracle PL/SQL and other software as needed. Computer, keyboard, mouse or other point device, monitor, printer, calculator, copier and phone
Skills and Abilities
Ability to communicate effective with all levels of staff to determine business needs and programs required
Ability to provide regular technical reports both verbal and statistical showing status of ongoing projects
Ability to assign and review design and development of computer applications
Considerable knowledge of web design and development methodologies
Considerable knowledge of capabilities and limitations of Oracle database
Ability to plan, direct, and review the activities of technical personnel involved in the design, development and implementation of applications
Must have a thorough understanding of technical issues, the ability to understand complex requirements and devise appropriate strategies for meeting them
Must be able to manage diverse systems projects with a clear understanding of how they relate to corporate objectives, requirements, and priorities
Period
Six months to one year, depending on knowledge and experience
Supervisory Responsibility Direct management responsibility for a Full Stack software development team.
Degree of Supervision
In this key department management position, the individual must be fully able to manage the day-to-day operation of software engineers, analysts, and developers employees while taking strategic, technical, and administrative direction from the Vice President of Information Systems .
