Front Desk Associate/Night Auditor Job Opening in South Portland, Maine - JOB SUMMARY :
The Econo Lodge South Portland is looking for a full time Night Auditor. The Night Auditor is responsible for overseeing the property overnight. Responsibilities could consist of: checking in guests, answering guest inquiries, conducting property end-of-day procedures, and more. This position is for someone with an outgoing, enthusiastic personality, strong attention to detail, and someone who can work independently without supervision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Welcome and acknowledge every guest with a smile, eye contact, and a friendly greeting.
Check in late-arriving guests, maintaining positive attitude throughout the night.
Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner, maintaining positive attitude, allowing guests to speak uninterrupted and then providing solutions to their issues or concerns.
Be knowledgeable about the property and its amenities.
Answer telephone calls with a friendly attitude, listening carefully to caller?s request, and providing correct, confident answers.
Record, store, access, and/or analyze computerized financial information to close each day?s transactions.
Control and secure cash and cash equivalents according to property cash handling policy and procedures.
Audit and reconcile all revenue postings.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary and guest information.
Ensure cleanliness of front desk and lobby areas is maintained throughout the night.
Assist with set up of the hotel?s complimentary breakfast.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must possess superb organizational skills.
Requires constant contact with guests and colleagues.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact all sorts of individuals and personalities.
Must have a sharp, problem-solving mentality; must approach all encounters, regardless of the situation in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
Must possess excellent telephone skills particularly related to customer service and sales.
Must be able to efficiently operate basic hotel software, computers, and other essential devices.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Previous hotel or customer service experience is preferred, but not required.
Ability to read, write, and understand English
