Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician Job Opening in Holly Springs, Mississippi - Under the direction of a Medical Director and the management team the successful candidate will perform and submit accurate results on specimens for laboratory analysis utilizing state of the art laboratory instrumentation. Has a good understanding of quality control procedures and the performance of simple maintenance on automated and semi-automated instruments. Recognizes unusual results and /or abnormalities and takes prompt and appropriate action to assure the accuracy and validity of test results. Communicates well with others on the team and notifies the supervisor at points where no preset criteria for decision making are available.
Assumes accountability for the dissemination of patient information to ensure the confidentiality and privacy of patients and efficiently performs phlebotomy on children, adults and geriatric patients. Conducts oneself as a professional while performing duties accurately and rapidly.
The candidate must have an associate's degree in laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution and be certified by a recognized professional association as a Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP or AMT) or has achieved a bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution and is certified by a recognized professional association as a Medical Technologist (ASCP or AMT) at least 2 years of experience.
