IT communication Engineer Job Opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida - Primary Responsibilities: The IT communication Engineer will be the technical prime provides a single point of contact to the client on technical matters. The prime supports and oversees the project implementation from launch to acceptance. The Engineer will be responsible for the implementation and deployment of project IT infrastructure, including WLAN, applications, and realtime communications from ISR and its subcontractors. They will act as a liaison to jointly manage deployed applications and systems with customers, and perform Infrastructure and application upgrades and migrations as needed. Additional responsibilities include:
The prime is responsible for project documentation, including development of specific installation and functional test procedures, and runs acceptance test plans with the client to secure product acceptance.
In addition, the IT communication Engineer will be the technical support prime will be responsible to support the product engineering team with various third party system integrations for all projects in scope.
Requirements & Competencies:
1. University or technical degree and equivalent experience.
2. 3-5 years or more of hands-on experience in a similar technical support position related to a software application implementation, application testing, telecom or IT rollout.
3. Client facing experience in a consulting relationship.
4. Vehicular electronics fundamentals is an asset.
5. Familiar with telecom, WiFi and cellular protocols and systems (GPS, GPRS, WiFi)
6. Familiar with Application Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, SNMP)
7. Understanding product lifecycle management, software development life cycle and product introduction.
8. Understanding of Database concepts.
9. Understanding of web service concepts (XML over HTTP)
Other skills required
Create and maintain detailed application/systems documentation.
Provide application and system cross training to team member
Ability to discern task priority
Troubleshoot cross layer application issues
Provide IT support to on-site systems engineers
Provide escalation support for tier one support
