DevOps Engineer Job Opening in Minneapolis, Minnesota - ITM TwentyFirst is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a genuine interest in learning, implementing and solving complex problems. Our ideal candidate is someone with 3 or more years of experience working with continuous integration and deployment automation tools across multiple environments. We need someone who can adapt quickly and add value to our fast paced, growing business and also someone who can contribute collaboratively within our software development team. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the systems that keep our production applications running smoothly. The role requires you to have hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards environment automation / management and continuous improvement.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage the methods of deployment (development, testing and production) and the processes and tools required to execute those deployments.
Pre-production Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of our products / services.
System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.
Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.
Champion changes to tools and processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development team.
Automate parts of the development delivery process using scripts and other appropriate tools.
Document processes and user guides for integration tools and scripts.
Codes and documents custom test automation frameworks.
Sets up and maintains the test environments for both manual and automated testing.· Assist in Production Support, troubleshoot existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develops solutions.
Maintains database uptime and performance by implementing new releases; completing maintenance requirements; evaluating computer operating systems and hardware products.
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Excellent communication, project management, and interpersonal skills
Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
4-year degree in computer science or a related field
3 years professional experience in software development
Experience with PowerShell, AWS infrastructure
Experience with continuous integration practices and tools (TeamCity preferred)
Experience with Relational Databases (MS SQL Server, MySQL, Postgres)
PREFERRED SKILLS
Strong grasp of automation tools
Database Administration using MS SQL Server 2012 or higher
Experience with enterprise network security and data privacy best practices
Experience using other DevOps technologies and tools (Jenkins, Chef, Puppet)
Being comfortable with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
Knowledge of an agile team environment, process and tools (GIT, JIRA, BitBucket)
