Project Manger Job Opening in Detroit, Michigan - General Position Summary
The Project Manager manages the overall project direction, completion and financial outcome and administers both the owner and subcontractor relationships for assigned projects. The Project Manager is responsible for directing and mentoring on-site staff. The position requires business management acumen and must demonstrate strong leadership, organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
Familiarize oneself with the terms and conditions of the contract with specific emphasis on the type of contract (CM, Lump Sum, GMP, Cost Plus), reimbursable costs, non-reimbursable costs, and fees
Initiate and conduct Internal Project Kick Off Meeting in accordance with Brinker guidelines
Manage and/or coordinate Company personnel and resources
Assist in preconstruction efforts
Perform constructability reviews
Prepare and execute project execution planning
Manage project permit process
Procure proof of owner's Builder's Risk Insurance or facilitate Brinker Group's purchase if not
owner supplied
Obtain Notice of Commencement, if applicable
Prepare trade contracts and bid packages, as well as oversee procurement process
Prepare bidders list
Oversee cost control and change management systems
Maintain relationships with clients, designers, consultants and internal Brinker clients
Prepare initial master schedule and oversee updates
Compile reports regarding financial performance of the project, including monthly PSR, Prolog, and GC Forecaster
Prepare monthly owner project status reports, as required
Review and approve Trade Contractor Payment Applications with Superintendent
Review Brinker pay application to owner and ensure monthly submission when costs are
incurred
Attend and lead project meetings, including progress, pre-construction and pre-award and issue minutes of meeting
Review inspection and test data for compliance with specifications
Develop and maintain site logistics plan, in coordination with Superintendent
Set-up QA/QC procedures and conduct quality inspections
Communicate and enforce Brinker Safety and Health Management Program
Demonstrate commitment to safe working Environment through own actions and
mentoring others
Oversee project close-out
Owner contact for post-construction, including warranty period
Assist in proposal preparation, specifically technical sections and schedule
Proposal presentations as directed
Assist in bidding work as requested
Communicate and enforce Brinker Group Safety and Health Management Prolog
Demonstrate commitment to a safe working environment through your actions and mentoring others
Job Skills & Abilities

Bachelor's Degree - Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent 7 to 10 years of industry experience
Continuing education in construction related area such as risk mitigation and presentation skills
Some estimating experience
Commitment to obtaining a professional certification in the industry such as AIA, PE, LEED, CPC, SAVE, ASHE
Authority
The Project Manager derives his or her authority, and performs all duties with guidance, from the Vice President of Operations, Project Executive, or Senior Project Manager depending on has overall
responsibility on the assigned task or project.
The Project Manager is responsible for supervising, managing and coordinating the efforts of the project team on a day-to-day basis. This person supervises two or more professional level persons on a full-time basis.
Work Environment Job/Conditions
This job may be performed in the office or on the job site and requires frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent walking, standing, bending, and reaching. Due to computer usage, there may be repetitive motions of the hands and wrists. He/she must be able to navigate the jobsite and is expected to be able to comply with all safety regulations in the office and on the jobsite.
