Position Announcement: Deputy Director
Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL), a community behavioral health agency located in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, invites applications for the position of Deputy Director.
The Agency: MCCFL is a quasi-governmental agency that provides services within three counties in north-central Oregon ? Hood River, Wasco and Sherman. As such, it is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of an elected commissioner from each county. The Agency operates, however, much like a nonprofit with leadership provided by the Executive Director and the Deputy Director. MCCFL employs a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach in the clinical services it provides to adults, children and families; the Agency integrates service programs into its clinical service model. MCCFL has adopted the Sanctuary Model throughout the Agency; Sanctuary informs both MCCFL?s employee relations and its communications. The Agency is currently in the process of adopting Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT) as the model for its clinical services.
The Position: The Deputy Director assumes primary responsibility for general oversight and leadership of clinical services, program evaluation, and the management information system (MIS) programs at MCCFL. As part of the executive team, this position plans, develops and directs the implementation of strategies for clinical program continuation and growth. The Deputy Director is responsible to monitor program efficacy to ensure that clinical programs and services are (a) relevant to community needs, (b) provided within the highest level of professional standards, and (c) in compliance with all Federal, State, and funder requirements. This position also provides leadership and direction to ensure that evaluation and MIS services and systems optimally serve Agency needs and requirements.
Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC): MCCFL was recently designated a CCBHC as part of a two-year demonstration program through the US Department of Health and Human Services and the State of Oregon. This program is part of a comprehensive effort to integrate behavioral health with physical health care, and it has the opportunity to dramatically improve healthcare in our communities. As part of this integrated approach to behavioral and physical health, MCCFL will be engaging and improving access for underserved populations in our local communities including Veteran, Hispanic/Latino, and Native American residents. MCCFL is excited to embrace this new and innovative approach in assisting our clients to improve and maintain their health and, in turn, impacting positively the health of our communities.
Desired Attributes: MCCFL seeks applicants who possess a strong behavioral healthcare management background and a sharp eye for detail, tempered by well-tuned emotional intelligence and a sense of humor! Skill in managing information technology and facility with electronic medical record software will add to the mix. Sophisticated communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong understanding of trauma-informed care are essential. Compensation Package: MCCFL offers a competitive salary and benefit package, including Oregon PERS .
