Accounting Specalist Job Opening in Saint Petersburg, Florida - This position is responsible for paying the bank?s invoices and employee expense reports with the Accounting for Mortgage Bankers (AMB) accounts payable system. The current volume is approximately 350 invoices per month. The position is also responsible for obtaining Form W9 from vendors as needed and for year-end Form 1099 tax reporting. Key responsibilities for the person hired will be implementing an electronic invoice approval and storage process and converting as many vendors as possible from check to ACH payments. The candidate should also be able to assist with other accounting responsibilities such as internal DDA and general ledger reconciliations as needed. The position reports to the Vice President, Controller.
Requirements:
At least five years of high-volume accounts payable experience with an electronic invoice approval, storage, and payment process. Experience with AMB is desirable but not required.
AA or AS in business or equivalent coursework with at least 12 semester hours of accounting courses.
Strong Excel skills. Familiarity with pivot tables and v-lookups is preferable but not required.
Strong work ethic with the ability and willingness to work overtime if needed.
Excellent people skills. Team player who works well with others and who relates well to people at all levels.
