Apex Systems has an immediate opportunity for a Systems Analyst in the greater Baltimore metropolitan area. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a large healthcare provider, and salary ranges from $70,000-80,000 depending on experience. Back up and/or monitor application assets to ensure continuity in service.
Monitor and test the ongoing production performance to assure appropriate operations in terms of response time and storage capacity.
Adhere to department policies, procedures, quality standards and safety standards.
Develop and maintain user and application support documentation to stimulate optimal use of applications.
Develop and update support documentation in designated documentation repositories.
Develop test scenarios and test plans.
Perform the testing of software updates/fixes and routine maintenance.
Validate that systems operate and perform properly through controlled unit, system, integration, and volume testing.
Exhibit a working knowledge of the current technology, trends, and/or developments in the healthcare industry in order to serve as a resource for the I.S. department and customers.
Provide support for integration of applications within and beyond the corporate computing environment.
Participate in meetings, serve on committees and represent the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts as appropriate.
Analyze the impact of application modules on departments.
Develop solutions to meet project objectives.
Coordinate vendors, Information Services associates, and users in troubleshooting problems and resolving software or procedural issues.
Provide general support to customers within and beyond the corporate organization in the implementation and operational use of software applications.
Assist customers and vendors by addressing information needs related to software performance and requests.
Support the implementation of improvements, enhancements, and updates to applications.
Analyze the impact of application modules on departments and develops solutions to meet project objectives.
Participate in the requirements analysis, functional specification definition, and project work plan designs.
Required Experience of the Systems Analyst:
1+ year related technical experience, including application support, shell script programming and development languages.
Experience with Cerner healthcare applications
Experience in two or more of the following languages: JAVA, C, C++, Perl, Tcl, SQL, JavaScript or a compiler language.
Skilled in Microsoft applications and other presentation tools to effectively communicate ideas, data and recommendations.
Experience in systems , customer service, vendor interaction, and information systems.
Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills to support interface developmental life cycle as well as daily operations.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with internal and external customers.
Understanding of information systems and their impact to customers.
Familiarity with Healthcare and HL7 standard is preferred.
Familiarity with Open Engine, Cloverleaf or other interface tools is highly preferred
Education Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
