Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Accountant, you will prepare and analyze Federal financial statements and/or reports, validating appropriate disclosures and developing supplemental content for publication to the federal community. This role will involve providing technical supervision and coaching to junior staff and support project management.

Lead Accountant responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and compilation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and TIER reporting in accordance with OMB A-136, Financial Reporting Requirements. Conduct financial analyses, reviews, research and validations which include: Treasury Tie-points, Abnormal Balances, Eliminations, Flux for accurate and timely reporting. Assist in development of standard operating procedures as well as identifying gaps, making recommendations and presenting solutions and corrective action plan to address internal control weaknesses in accordance with in accordance with OMB A-123 internal control requirements Support the preparation, review and submission of CFO Certification Letters, Assurance Statements, and CFO Certification Packages for each component Prepare, review, submit, and brief on various ad-hoc reports, summaries, and other information to members of management both internally and client representatives

Qualification requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related degree with a minimum of 24 credit hours in accounting At least 4 years of supervisory/lead experience in accounting and/or financial management Ability to work well in a team environment and provide client advisory on requirements identified in Federal GAAP, Treasury, and OMB requirements. Fast learner with willingness to learn new tasks and business functions Proficient in the use of the MS Office suite; specifically, Excel, Word, and MS Access Federal Accounting experience is preferred, but not required Professional certification or candidate (for CPA, CGFM, CIA, CISA, CGAP, PMP, CFE) is a plus U.S. Citizenship with ability to pass background investigation to obtain a security clearance Willingness and ability to occasionally work extra hours to meet deadlines
