Under the supervision of the Vice President of Finance, the Senior Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for assisting with timely financial closes and the accuracy of the general ledger, as well as providing support with reporting and analysis and other financial tasks. Consistent with PAI?s team and mission driven approach, the Senior Staff Accountant also has an integral role in communicating with staff across the organization to facilitate the smooth implementation of PAI finance processes. As a member of the EO+ team, the Senior Staff Accountant engages with and mutually supports team members and their departments, upholds the values of the organization and participates in PAI-wide initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor?s degree in related field (Finance, Accounting or Business) and 5+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Relevant training and experience working in general ledger and related areas of accounting. A strong understanding of relevant nonprofit and for profit accounting and finance standards.
Positive outlook and friendly demeanor

Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Must be organized and detail-orientated, and exercise discretion with sensitive information
Ability to discern and communicate with the highest level of tact and diplomacy, both verbally and writing
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Finance Director with monthly and annual close process and with ensuring the general ledger is current and accurate.
Reconcile general ledger revenues monthly and assist Development staff with reconciling contributions in CRM to the general ledger.
Process and record bank deposits, credit card donations, incoming bank wires, and vendor ACH charges, pledge and service contract payments, and reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
Reconcile and record investment transactions, and maintain schedules required for the annual audit.
Review and backup payroll functions, validate and record payroll transactions in general ledger, and maintain salary and fringe reconciliations.
Maintain monthly equipment and capital lease schedules, and manage, process, and reconcile prepaid expenses entries monthly
Assist with annual audit and IRS Form 990
Assist and backup Finance Director and Vice President of Finance with other key accounting, budgets and forecasts, and other finance functions
