Configuration Control Coordinator Job Opening in Portland, Oregon - Precision Aircraft Solutions, LLC is internationally known for creating the premier Passenger to Cargo aircraft conversion. We are seeking a highly qualified Configuration Control Coordinator to work in our Beaverton, OR location. This position reports to the Director of Engineering and is an essential contributor to our company. The Configuration Control Coordinator manages changes to engineering design data to ensure accurate usage and application by procurement, manufacturing, and production.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain company processes that ensure certification conformity is fully traceable and conformity accounting is accurate at all times. Develop comprehensive conformity tracking that can be fully relied upon by engineering management, engineers, and FAA representatives.
Support the Director of Engineering with the coordination of aircraft modification kitting logistical requirements including but not limited to, building schedules, flowing fabrication tasks, coordinating with engineering, materials, production, and vendors on technical and manufacturing tasks.
Serve as liaison between engineering, procurement, manufacturing, production to ensure engineering data is accurately applied by manufacturing. Work in alliance with materials to ensure final parts (kitting) conforms to the applicable data/drawings.
Coordinate/verify that design changes are systematically considered to minimize adverse effect and ensure product consistency through the product life. Ensure design changes are carried out as dictated by released/approved data.
Support aircraft certification programs and prototype development with the generation of the required FAA documentation (Request for Conformity) that will ensure part manufacturing (kitting) conforms to the applicable data/drawings. Ensure proper engineering data releases and FAA approvals are in place in order to commence the part conformity process. Ensure the process is followed or improved to avoid conformity delays.
Liaison with Designated Engineering Representatives (DERs), engineers, and document control if deficiencies are identified with preliminary or released engineering data that could affect part manufacturing, kit assembly, and kit installations.
Maintain company processes that ensure certification conformity is fully traceable and conformity accounting is accurate at all times. Develop comprehensive conformity tracking that can be fully relied upon by engineering management, engineers, and FAA representatives.
Work in alliance with FAA Designated Airworthiness Representatives (DARs) during the conformity process. Generate or revise conformity documentation as requested by the DAR or FAA.
Maintain the Master Bill of Materials (MBOM).
Manage/maintain the Manufacturing Order which includes: uploading the picklist into Great Plains for kitting actions, established initial baseline kit, establishing survey kits, management of the manufacturing order (MO), prepare MO change notice (MOCN), prepare parts request forms (PRF), prepare/provide initial and final kit tally, reconcile all details prior to closing of MO.
Maintain a Unique Bill of Materials for each aircraft conversion which includes: kit tracker, summary of all changes to MO/kit.
Maintain a cost accounting of the Master Bill of Materials (MBOM). Provide current MBOM to Purchasing for Financial Reporting.
Prepare unique MBOM cost comparison (actual versus budget).
Prepare and submit aged inventory report to Finance.
Prepare Parts Change Notices (PCN) that provide a clear and definite summary so that accurate data is used to fabricate parts/kitting.
Ensure the top installation drawing collector is accurate so the applicable kits/sub kits and data are applied during kit assembly and kit installation. Ensure aircraft surveys are interpreted accurately and applied to installation drawing collector.
Support the review and accuracy of the Master Drawing List (MDL) and the Sub Drawing Lists (Sub DL).
Monitor Liaison Engineering Service Request (LESR) and related Aircraft Deviation Report (ADR) to ensure applicable drawing revisions and part identification are accurately represented.
Monitor Material Review Discrepancy Reports (MRDR) to ensure applicable drawing revisions and part identification are accurately represented.
Generate/process data release forms (Minor Change Agreement) which accurately represent applicable drawing revisions and part identification. Coordinate with document control, engineers to correct release form deficiencies.
Assist Director of Engineering with analysis and process development which supports AS9100 quality management system accreditation.
Assist Director of Engineering with proposal and contract development.
