Bookkeeper Job Opening in New York, New york - Responsibilities:
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions as well as financial records
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Process accounts receivable/payable
Process and verify invoices and payments
Communicates (both in verbal and written form) with clients, vendors, CPAs and banking contacts.
Reconcile various bills and statements
Generate monthly reports and financial statements
Handle requests for information and data
Maintain electronic and hard copy filing system, includes historical records
Ad hoc duties as needed
Requirements:
2?3 years of experience in accounting or similar position
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting or another business-related field
Solid bookkeeping experience
Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online required
Microsoft Office Skills, including Excel, Word
Knowledge and experience with financial, accounting and bookkeeping systems
Ability to plan and manage own work load and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Reliable and consistent
Strong attention to detail, accuracy and organizational skills
Honest, discreet, and trustworthy with highly confidential information
Ability to file 1099's and W2's (optional)
