We're seeking people to coach in a non-clinical, lifestyle intervention. Our goal is to help clients lose weight and incorporate physical activity in a sustainable manner.
We are recruiting people who can coach clients in both group-based, in-person settings and virtually via the web and telephone. We prefer candidates with experience in motivational interviewing and other commonly used health coaching techniques. The ideal candidate would have experience in coaching in the national Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP). Most important, we seek someone who can make a personal, trusted connection with their clients, and help them build the confidence and skills they need to maintain behavior change.
Our program includes a self-guided online course for the client. Your role is to track how clients are doing with the course, provide encouragement, and help them set and attain behavior change goals.
Key Requirements:
You are able to make a personal connection with clients such that they trust you and believe you can help them.
You communicate clearly and efficiently via spoken and written communication.
You are highly responsible in scheduling and being on time for 1:1 phone calls with clients.
You are able to manage a large roster of clients by reviewing health indicators and other data we provide and then determining which clients need attention.
You are able to travel to up to an hour from your home to lead in-person sessions.
Experience coaching in the National Diabetes Prevention Program is a strong plus.
Spanish language ability is a strong plus.
