Real Estate Bookkeeper Job Opening in Oakland, California - ABOUT THIS JOB: In this role you will report to the Controller and manage seven to nine (7-9) different entities. We are looking for an Accountant to review, improve, and create processes in accounting areas as needed to increase efficiencies departmentally and companywide. The Accountant will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and financial functions, including the "big picture" in terms of creating, implementing, streamlining, and overseeing processes that will increase companywide profitability.
WE NEED FROM YOU:
A/R, A/P, collections, reconciliation of bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts for all entities.
Perform Month-End close on a timely basis for all entities.
Generate accurate GAAP compliant Financial Statements and reports for management, investors, and bankers.
Trouble shoot, problem solve, make adjustment as needed in the accounting and other company departments.
Assist in the preparation of monthly Financial Statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) for all entities.
Monitoring and manage cash flow for all entities.
Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for loan applications for various entities.
Assist in the preparation of financial documentation for annual tax return preparation and support for quarterly budgeting for all entities
Perform all accounting functions including, but not limited to day to day operations, monthly reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts, perform month end close and generate accurate GAAP compliant Financial Statements for management and investors for all entities.
Interact and communicate with the other departments, vendors, banks and investors.
Develop deep knowledge of the company's processes to increase efficiencies.
Assists with guidance and collaboration of company's management teams as this person will need to pivot and guide the company into changes needed as they evolve.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
QuickBooks experience is required, Contractor Edition is a plus.
Proficiency in MS Office products, advanced excel skills desired.
Minimum 2 years of experience, real estate environment a plus.
Diplomacy, flexibility, and excellent verbal and written communications skills required for a changing and evolving environment.
Excellent financial oversight skills, highly-detailed and strong organizational skills.
Ability to take responsibility for various projects and bring them to completion.
Demonstrated ability to work in a small close-knit group as a team-member and collaborator.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.

Salary is based on work experience.
