Mechanical/Electrical Designer Job Opening in Glenwood Springs, Colorado - Our Glenwood Springs CO office is currently seeking an experienced Designer. This position will support the growing MEP Team.
The candidate will need to provide MEP design, construction document generation and overall support for a variety of projects. These projects will have an interesting and diverse mix of commercial, industrial, and municipal projects such as healthcare, federal, schools, water and wastewater treatment, and transportation facilities. A self-motivating, focused personality is a requirement for the position.
Basic Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3-5 years of CAD and design experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
HVAC and mechanical design
Electrical lighting and power distribution
Plumbing design
The candidate should have a willingness to learn additional disciplines to eventually provide full support.
Additionally, experience in preparing construction documents and a general understanding of building codes and construction issues is required. All projects involve a commitment to high performance systems and therefore experience in efficiency, commissioning, renewable energy and other high performance strategies is highly valued.
Required Skills
Required Experience: Proficiency with AutoCAD, as well as 2D CAD drawing setup, familiarity with line types, layers, xrefs, etc. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and the ability to learn and use new software
Preferred Qualifications
Revit MEP, Design Master, Trane TRACE
Optional Qualifications
Design experience of MEP systems, LEED and energy modeling experience, Building Information Modeling
