Pre-Sales Engineer Job Opening in Raleigh, North carolina - Responsibilities:
The Pre-Sales Engineer (PSE) is responsible for designing technical solutions to meet client requirements. The PSE will meet and consult with clients, listen to their challenges, and then work with a Carolinas IT Account Executive to design a solution that matches the requirement. Additionally, the PSE may serve as a Virtual CIO or Consultant to assist clients by providing IT guidance and leadership.
Support the sales team by identifying the customers' business and technical requirements during the sales cycle and determining appropriate solutions and services.
Participates in the planning and design process by assessing current state and desired outcome
Develops business assured solutions and strategy that integrate client?s business requirements, information technology, and Carolinas IT processes and/or resources
Conduct customer facing presentations
Develop and finalize solution architecture/design and detailed line item configurations and/or bill of materials (BOMs).
Lead technical scoping/reviews with sales team and customers for Statement of Work (SOW) generation
Display expertise with integration of advanced technology solutions offered by Carolinas IT
Requirements / Experience
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related experience
4-6 years experience in a technical leadership role for IT projects in the areas of integration or support services
Knowledge and experience with current hardware and software interoperability, cloud, and security solutions
Experience working with solution design, job costing and quality planning
Experience developing/writing technical sales documents
Knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange, Switching, Routing, and Cloud Technologies
Understanding of industry best practices for networking architecture design
Understanding of Mass Storage Design (SAN)
Understanding of Server Virtualization and related of concepts
Strong inter-personal communications skills
Professional bearing and conversation skills
Ability to listen and correctly analyze technical requirements
Strong technical experience designing Microsoft and Cisco networking technologies
Limited travel required
Must pass drug test and background screening
