Bookkeeper (part-time)

Scappoose, Oregon

Bookkeeper (part-time) Job Opening in Scappoose, Oregon - To be considered for this position, please send resume, professional references and a cover letter why this position is desirable to you.
We are an entrepreneurial family with a small company, a small finance company, personal rentals and a new start-up. Our projects span the greater Portland Metro area, but we are based in Scappoose. Prior to 2008 we employed a full-time bookkeeper for 12 years, three bookkeepers each who worked for four years. Since 2008, we have been keeping the books ourselves, but other demands require that we look outside the organization to fill a part-time bookkeeping need. We need a self-starter able to commit to at least 15 hours (probably more to start) per week during regular business hours and who has experience being a full-charge bookkeeper. Please see the job description below. Due to the amount of paperwork, contracts, files, etc., this position CANNOT be performed remotely. For this reason, we prefer someone local from Columbia County or as far as St. Johns who would enjoy a reverse commute. **If you are not in North Portland, Scappoose, St Helens, or nearby, please address in your cover letter your ability to commute in your cover letter. Sadly, we are not flexible on working remotely; please do not contact us unless you are able to make the commute to Scappoose. If your resume does not show bookkeeping/office administration experience, you will need to address why you feel you would still be a good fit in your cover letter. We are using Quickbooks and are proficient in its use; you should be, too.
Employment screening is required.
