SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - Corporate CFO - CPA Pref. - NATIONAL HOS... Job Opening in Nashville, Tennessee - MedQuest Search Solutions, Inc., the nation's leading healthcare executive search firm is conducting a search for a hands-on, Sr. Accountant for a National Healthcare organization in Greater Nashville, TN.
Based out of corporate headquarters in centralized environment.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Prepares/maintains Balance Sheet account analysis
Performs ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Acts a Controller/CFO and financial liaison to each hospital within territory and interacts extensively with each Hospital CEO
Prepares interim and year end audit schedules and responds to audit inquiries for the hospitals they close
Prepares cost reporting information for external vendor as directed
Assists with budgets and planning as directed
Perform the monthly close for hospitals which includes creating and posting all standard journal entries for expenses items, expense review for appropriate intercompany coding, creating non-standard entries for manual accruals as appropriate, evaluating accounts receivable and calculating contractual needed on accounts receivable
Assist with preparation of monthly operation review packages distributed to upper management explaining monthly activity and trending analysis
Review bi-weekly payroll to ensure appropriate application of corporate policies and accurate payment
Review payroll entries prepared by payroll account for accuracy; perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and assist in preparation of annual financial audit and cost report filings work papers.
Prepare property and gross receipts tax filings and check requests in accordance with regulatory body?s stated timelines
REQUIREMENTS/IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting preferred - Finance or Business degrees considered with requisite experience
CPA or pursuing CPA highly preferred
3-5 years? progressive experience in accounting IN HEALTHCARE - MUST**
Mental Health / Behavioral Health experience preferred!
Knowledge of healthcare receivables and allowances
Experience with month-end close and variance analysis required.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
