Business Unit Analyst Job Opening in Shelbyville, Tennessee - GENERAL SUMMARY
The Business Unit Analyst position is a mid-level position and is generally responsible for reporting all financial aspects of a Business Unit. Responsibilities include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Position reports organization?s finances to managements and offers advice about resource utilization and assumptions underlying budgets/forecasts. This position relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works independently under general supervision receiving guidance on unusual complex problems or issues. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Position applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices and procedures in this particular field of specialization in order to complete moderately complex assignments.
ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Tracks financial status by monitoring variances from plan, forecast and prior months.
Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.
Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions with heavy emphasis on sales, material and freight.
Analysis of existing business models and transfer pricing.
Identifies problems and possible solutions and takes appropriate actions to resolve.
Generates monthly reports with analysis requested by local and global management.
Support month and year-end reporting, forecasting and business planning processes.
Manage, coordinate and consolidate actual, forecast and business plan reporting.
Position must successfully use a high level of interpersonal communication skills by working at all levels, with functional leaders, and cross-regional with US, Mexico, and Japan.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This work is performed in a general office environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
The incumbent must:
Have 4 year degree preferably in Accounting/Finance or in another field with at least 2 years relevant experience

Professional Certification (CPA,CMA) or Master?s Degree a plus
3+ years minimum experience or 2 with advanced degree is generally required for this position
Goal oriented that mirrors companies progression / succession planning
Highly effective interpersonal skills with the capability to influence and negotiate at all levels
Highly effective analytical skills (ability to recognize and resolve issues)

SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office. Accounting, Corporate Finance, Reporting/Research Skills, Deadline Oriented, GAAP/IFRS, Time Management and General Math Skills
