Accounting Auditor Job Opening in Brentwood, Tennessee - A public accounting firm located in Brentwood, TN is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Supervisor. Supervisors are responsible for larger, more complex assignments and may manage two or more projects simultaneously. Supervisors assume responsibility for supervising projects and special assignments using established Firm policies and procedures, review financial statements and will communicate with clients. Will also be responsible with pronouncements of professional and other regulatory groups.

Coordinates various phases of projects, budgets time and expenses, monitors actual performance against budget, reviews working papers for accuracy and completeness and reviews financial statements for suitability of presentation and adequacy of disclosures.
Resolves accounting and consulting problems as they arise.
Provides supervision and the on-the-job training to staff assigned to projects.
Assigns work to staff members.
Ensures that working papers, financial statements, tax returns, and letters of recommendations are prepared in accordance with generally accepted professional and Firm standards.
Communicates project progress to upper management and partners.
Assists in recruiting entry-level and experienced staff by serving as "greeters" for on-campus interviews and other recruiting duties as needed.
Provides high quality client service and adds value to their businesses.
Participates in Firm's practice development efforts including expanding services to clients and assists with marketing the Firm.
Prepares other reports and projects as requested by managers and partners.
Understands the Firm's business on a daily basis: billings and collections, proper utilization of staff, Firm policies and procedures, etc.
Encouraged to join a community association related to his/her field after first year of employement with Firm.
Auditing experience a MUST.
Working hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Skills:
3-5 years of experience in public accounting or consulting, demonstrating a progression in complexity and number of projects managed.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
Current and valid CPA License strongly preferred or CPA eligible and working toward obtaining licensure by taking and passing applicable state CPA exam.
Proficiency in use of MS Office and accounting software.
