Sr.Accountant Job Opening in El Segundo, California - We need a Senior Accountant to join our accounting department and take over the major reporting and reconciliation duties for our shared service company. We are a growing, innovative network of broker/dealers. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for month end close processes and analysis. We need a professional with the attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas. The successful applicant will have prior experience following generally accepted accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the month, quarter and year-end close process.
Assist the accounting department during internal and external audits.
Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue and expense journal entries.
Prepare monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
Facilitate and complete support schedules according to month-end procedures.
Complete ad-hoc projects and analysis assignments as instructed by internal management.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or higher degree in Accounting and/or Finance required.
Strong understanding of GAAP accounting. Licensed CPA or candidate (a plus, not required)
Desire to learn about the financial services industry.
5+ years accounting/finance experience.
Public Accounting/Auditing experience a plus.
Intermediate proficiency with MS Office
Knowledge and use of Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) ERP system is a plus (not required).
Highly detailed oriented and organized.
Ability to meet assigned deadlines.
Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external partners to maximize performance, creativity and results.
Ability to act and operate independently with minimal supervision from manager to accomplish objectives.
