Corporate Accountant Job Opening in New York, New york - Introduction
A leading New York City based insurance company is looking for an Accountant to join their established corporate accounting team on a permanent basis. The Accountant will be responsible for supporting the Senior management in all aspect of Corporate Accounting reporting across the group, including both Statutory & GAAP.
Responsibilities & Description of role
· Post journal entries into the corporate ledger as part of the monthly/quarterly close cycle
· Preparation of investment account reconciliations, bank account reconciliations, and tax accounts reconciliation
· Oversight of general ledger of foreign branches
· Preparation of Statutory statements and filings
· Support of Adhoc projects

· Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
· 2-3 years of accounting and statutory reporting experience, public accounting experience preferred
· Working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
· Good written, verbal communications and teamwork skills
· Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
· Accounting experience within insurance sector is preferred
· Big 4 accounting experience is a plus
