Accountant-Client Coordinator Job Opening in Albany, New york - Job Summary
Statewide Association seeks a full time experienced Accountant to coordinate the daily operations of a busy fiscal department. Responsibilities include adherence to company accounting procedures that conform to Board approved policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The establishment and implementation of operating procedures and internal controls for local and regional offices. Account payable management, payroll processing, the maintenance of HR records, upkeep of depreciation schedules, and the coordination of other office operations such as building maintenance, the use of company cars and purchasing. Assistance with the preparation of annual audit schedules, as well as 1099 preparation. Responsible for general ledger maintenance of the books and records of subsidiary and custodial accounts. Knowledge of government grant management a plus. The ideal candidate will have a degree in accounting, and will preferably have nonprofit accounting experience. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills desired as well as excellent written and oral communication for demonstrated time management and productivity. The individual must also maintain the highest standards of judgment, care and confidentiality at all times. The successful candidate must have high proficiency in MS Word and Excel and good working knowledge of Fund E-Z or other comparable nonprofit accounting software. EOE.
