Sales Travel Consultant Job Opening in Boston, Massachusetts - Bay State Search has partnered with our client, a global travel booking company located in Boston, MA to hire a Sales Travel Consultant. This company is targeting candidates with strong sales and customer relationship skills who will strive to exceed sales goals by building a book of business. Prior experience in the travel booking industry as well as GDS/Global Distribution Software experience is required for this position.
Ability to work various shifts, including one weekend day is required for this position, but this is a five day/40-hour work week role.
Compensation summary : $100,000 + per year ($40,000-50,000 base salary with exceeding another $40,000 a year). Commission and compensation is based on individual performance. Top performers typically make between $75,000-$85,000 within 2-3 years.

Responsibilities:
Personalize travel reservation at the point of sale using internal database.
Respond to customer questions regarding air travel and assist them with booking reservations globally
Offer customers alternate booking options to add value to their experience
Ensure travelers who are booking trips have an excellent experience to ensure repeat business and drive customer loyalty/customer referrals.
Consistently achieve individual sales and quality goals while selling a wide variety of products and services
Constantly communicate all of the necessary information to clients including travel details, products and policies.
Qualifications:
GDS/Global Distribution Systems experience required (Amadeus, Sabre, Worldspan, Galileo, )
Travel industry experience is required, preferably within a sales or customer service capacity.
Proven successful track record in sales and consistently hitting goals
Ability to work various shifts including one day over the weekend (rotational)
Personal and professional accountability in recognizing results
Resilient and highly motivated
Being working with others to continue to improve skills
Consultative, persuasive sales style focused on building relationships with clients
Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
Strong organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Availability to work overtime as required
Strong work ethic and the ability to work both individually and in groups
