Accounting Manager Job Description
Salary: $75,000.00 to $85,000.00 /year
The Accounting Manager will ensure our financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP, and also work cross functionally within the organization to elevate the financial understanding within our company.
Specific Job Skills:
Strong understanding of GAAP
Experience in cost accounting in a manufacturing environment
Proficient with MS Suite, with advanced Excel skills
Ability to produce quality correspondence, spreadsheets, reports and presentations if necessary
Advanced research and analysis skills for financial and operating data, including planning and implementation of selected solutions
Ability to drive change across departments by presenting solutions issues within the scope of the finance department
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
Work cross functionally to ensure ad-hoc business needs are met.
Review and prepare financial statements and reports, prepare and post journal entries, ensure timely and accurate reporting, compliance with GAAP
Ensure state filings are administered
Cost accounting for manufacturing and engineering projects
Administration of the fixed asset process, monthly depreciation
Oversight of A/R and A/P, and Payroll
Oversight of Cash Reconciliation * Review of accounting processes and recommending changes as needed
Perform back-up for key activities of Operations Controller
Mentor and assist accounting staff
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, MBA or Graduate Degree CPA preferred. Must have a minimum 5 years? experience in financial accounting from general ledger to financial statement presentation with at least 3 years of manufacturing accounting experience, including cost accounting. Knowledge of employee benefits and strong excel knowledge a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility: Oversees Staff Accountant
