POSITION SUMMARY
This position reports to the head of Finance. The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Manager include financial reporting, developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountabilities include, but are not inclusive to the following responsibilities:
Obtain and maintain thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
Ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information.
Assist the Head of Finance in the daily banking requirements.
Support budget and forecasting activities.
Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Respond to inquiries from the Head of Finance in a timely manner.
Work with the Head of Finance to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
Oversee the general ledger to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
Support the Director of Finance with special projects and workflow process improvements.
Compute and generate all journal entries.
Review all expense reports and identify discrepancies.
Enter and receive all inventory transfers between companies.
Prepare 13 week cash flow and forward for consolidation.
Process hourly and salary payroll in the absence of the Head of Finance.
Generate monthly cost rolls.
Audit and monitor cycle counting for all potato starch.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field
5-7 years? of experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area.
Excellent communication, organizational and critical thinking skills.
Must be PC proficient with experience with Excel and other Microsoft Office and Sage MRP systems is preferred.
Experience in accounting documentation and a credible audit trail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
Strong interpersonal, and customer service skills required.
