Summary
The Software Developer position is part of an agile development team, building and working on enterprise grade software systems on top of the Microsoft development stack. It will develop, create, and modify general computer applications software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions. Design software or customize software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency. May analyze and design databases within an application area including testing, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
Essential Functions
Working with an agile team to develop, test, and maintain web applications built on Microsoft technologies.
Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, development of user stories, and estimates
Preparing reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of software
Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards
Participating in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
Package and support deployment of releases
Developing, refining, and tuning integrations between applications
Analyzing and resolving technical and application problems
Adhering to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget
Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism
Stay current with system information, changes and updates
Build, strengthen and maintain positive business relationships by establishing rapport with customers (agents, dealers and internal personnel)
Address issues and ensure effective and long-term problem resolution
Provide timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or concerns
Maintain ongoing two-way communication promoting professionalism, teamwork, positive employee morale, and outstanding customer service
Return phone messages and emails within one business day
Complete all other duties as required and/or necessary as requested by management

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
2 or more years of related experience and/or training that would enable performance of the full scope of the position
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software
Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills
Solid understanding of object oriented programming concepts
Solid understanding of relational database design and querying concepts
Familiarity with version control concepts
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience building and deploying mobile applications both IOS and Android
Exposure using Xamarin to develop mobile applications
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Exposure to web development using HTML5, CSS, and Bootstrap
Strong background in developing cross-browser web interfaces
Intermediate MS Excel skills
Experience with Visual Studio development software
Exposure to Microsoft development using C#
Exposure to web development using HTML5, CSS, Bootstrap and JavaScript
Exposure to SQL Server or Relational databases
Knowledge of client/server application development
Knowledge of agile development methodologies
* Knowledge of unit testing theory
Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word)
