Behavioral Health Nurse Job Opening in Rapid City, South dakota - The ideal candidate will possess the psychiatric nursing skills needed to function independently on the shift. He or she will be able to communicate and work effectively with an interdisciplinary team. The candidate will be comfortable working in an environment that serves severely mentally ill individuals in a crisis situation, sound medical judgment in screening for substance use problems as well as triaging for urgent and emergent medical conditions that warrant more extensive medical evaluation. They will have excellent documentation skills and be comfortable documenting in an electronic health record. He or she will possess sound clinical judgment and be able to demonstrate critical thinking in rapidly changing circumstances. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable of healthcare privacy law (HIPAA), especially as it relates to the care of clients in an urgent mental healthcare setting.
Candidates will get trained for their respective units. Work Hours: Varied - 24-hour continuum of care in an acute care setting. A combination of 12-hour day and night shifts. Initially works 50% of weekends as new employee. Holiday rotation is every other holiday. Work schedule customized with unit longevity.
