Clinical Nurses and Medical Assistants are a crucial component to the CORE Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Practice.
CORE Orthopedics is accepting applicants for a flexible PRN Clinic Nurse or Medical Assistant. This individual will perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the Physicians and Midlevel Providers (not assigned to one specific provider and will be required to assist where they are needed). Additional responsibilities include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, and administering medications as directed.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
Interviews patients to obtain medical information and measures their vital signs, weight, and height.
Shows patients to examination rooms and prepares them for the medical provider.
Prepares and administers medications as directed by a medical provider.
Explains treatment procedures, medications, or medical providers? instructions to patients.
Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies.
Helps medical providers examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
Education Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Some post-secondary education required
Currently licensed as an LPN or certified as a MA in the state of South Dakota
Work Experience Requirements
Knowledge of medical practice and care.
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures.
Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments.
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
Strong attention to detail
Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and logical reasoning skills.
