Immediate opening for a Software Engineer with Java experience to join a development team located in Monterey, CA. Qualified candidates should have at least 7 years of Java development experience, including a solid understanding of the Software Development Life-cycle. The successful candidate will have a core competency in java and will be developing web applications that interact with Oracle databases. Candidate will be an integrated member of a team consisting of government and contractor staff, must be a team player able to work onsite with government customer.
Essential Job Functions
Gather requirements, develop code, test, debug, and support applications.
Participate in creating detailed technical specifications using UML. Participates as integral part of design team, coordinates engineers and support staff in project efforts.
Participates in implementation of software systems using java technologies.
Performs testing and research of software systems to enhance performance or investigate and resolve matters of significance.
Monitor and oversee the completion and implementation of technical products to ensure success and timeliness.
Recommend and implement corrections in highly complex technical applications and analysis to enhance performance.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of Java experience
Experience developing web applications
Experience with Angular-JS is desired
Familiarity with open source Java frameworks, especially Spring, JSF, Struts
Experience with JDeveloper, Eclipse, Maven, JUnit, Oracle
Experience with Hibernate or myBatis or iBatis
REST and/or SOAP
No-SQL such as Mongo or CouchDB is a plus
Other Qualifications
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills to resolve highly complex software design issues and create new software for multiple products
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with management and team members
Strong communication skills to interact with team members and senior support personnel
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
