Senior Software Engineer / Developer Job Opening in Denver, Colorado - MTData is a leading provider of GPS tracking and dispatch systems to the transport and taxi industries in USA, Canada, UK Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. Due to accelerated growth in North America, we are seeking a senior software engineer to join our existing Software Engineering team working in Denver, Colorado USA. Open to candidates in Portland, Oregon, and Houston, Texas.
The MTData US office has a small growing team of engineers and support staff who work together in a friendly environment to enhance and develop our business opportunities in North America.
The software engineer will be working alongside experienced software engineers and developers to serve as primary customer contact for support and enhancements before and after system deployment. The main areas of responsibility include:
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations North America, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Support and maintain existing software and software enhancements
Develop enterprise class software systems in the framework
Working with the Customer Support team to investigate and resolve reported issues
Perform software testing
Work with project delivery teams to assist with the deployment of new systems
Implement new solutions on customer hosted and MTData cloud based platforms
Support customer service personnel responsible for on call (after hours) support activities as required
Work with geographical disperse MTData development resources as well as third party developers
The successful candidate will be able to interact well within a relaxed team environment, while retaining the ability to self-motivate when the situation requires.
The successful candidate should possess at least the following skills/experience:
Microsoft Architecture Fundamentals
Experience with Multi-Tenant solutions
Framework and development knowledge
C# winforms and webforms development skills
and MVC MVC development knowledge
Java Script development knowledge
SQL Server knowledge
Have a methodical approach to problem solving
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
The successful candidate would benefit from any knowledge or exposure to the following:
A working knowledge of IP communications, networks and network management
Automated unit testing methods and tools such as NUnit/MOQ
Use of Subversion
Development of real-time, configurable applications
Ability to manage their own projects as well as coordinate changes from multiple geographies
Basic understanding of software development methodologies including agile, scrum, Kanban, waterfall
Release Management in a software and hardware product based company
Version control software such as TFS
