INSTRUCTOR for Health/Direct Care Services Job Opening in Glendale, Arizona - Are you a professional healthcare instructor? Do you long to make a positive difference and impact in the lives of caregivers and vulnerable clients alike? Olivete Training, a division of Developmental Enrichment Centers (DEC), is actively seeking an experienced and professional instructor to oversee creation of a statewide training curriculum and implementation of staff training programs. This vital position focuses on providing adult education related to the delivery of service for individuals with developmental disabilities, physical disabilities, dementia and related disorders, emotional disorders, and behavioral interventions.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :
We are actively searching for a FULL or PART-TIME Instructor currently certified to provide training in the following:
American Red-Cross CPR/First Aid and Life Support
DES/DDD Article 9
DES/DDD Prevention and Support
AHCCCS Direct Care Worker Curriculum Levels 1 & 2
Classes are held on weekday evenings (starting at 5pm) and weekends (starting at 8am), totaling approximately 8-10 classes per month.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to communicate course material in a clear and understandable manner
Ability to teach effectively in an adult learning environment
Must have a current American Red Cross certification to teach the Basic CPR/First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
Current DES/DDD "Article 9" Instructor Certification
Current DES/DDD "Client Prevention and Support" Instructor Certification
Current AHCCCS "Principles of Care Giving" Instructor Certification
Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, teaching, nursing, or business preferred, plus three (3) years of prior work experience in administering DD programs and staff development
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) or (English/Sign Language) a plus
Minimum: Associate?s Degree in health services, early education, or social science, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university, and a minimum of (2) years of prior work experience in office administration or teaching development
