JOB DESCRIPTION / SUMMARY: The primary responsibilities for the Quality Technician are to address the day-to-day quality-related issues within the organization. Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician will help drive improvements and support Manufacturing, Engineering and Materials to improve overall product and process quality.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Support and maintain the QA/QC processes and procedures * Serve as a technical resource on quality issues for the production processes. * Support the company?s metrology and calibration program. * Assist in the development of receiving, in-process, and final inspection procedures for use by Quality and Manufacturing personnel. * Process nonconforming material and participate on the Material Review Board (MRB). Assist with product failure analysis. * Use statistical methods for evaluating the adequacy and reliability of measurement systems. * Maintain statistical data files to monitor key product characteristics. * Maintain inspection, test, and calibration records. * Assist with new product trial runs; collect and compile inspection and test data. * Communicate with customers and suppliers as needed on quality-related issues. * Assist with execution of IQ, OQ, PQ activities for new and existing processes. * Execute APQP and PPAP tasks in accordance with customer requirements. * Provide training for QC and production personnel on quality-related procedures and protocol. * Conduct or participate with internal audits in support of the company?s ISO9001 quality management system. * Help promote a safe work environment within the organization.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE * Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality role with plastic injection molding or related industry. * ASQ-CQT certification a plus. * Familiarity with APQP, PPAP and IQ, OQ, PQ requirements. * Basic statistical methods used in the field of quality technology. * Internal auditor training/experience and a familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO13485 requirements. * Extensive knowledge on the care and use of a wide variety of measuring instruments including CMM, optical measurement, hand tools, and gages. Strong working knowledge of GD&T in the review and interpretation of engineering drawings. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES * Team player that builds, strengthens, and maintains collaborative relationships with others. * Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. * Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities on the fly. * Good written and verbal skills. Communicates effectively with customers and suppliers. * Working knowledge of MS Office, Minitab, PC-DMIS, ERP systems. * Able to work independently under minimal supervision with a focus on meeting customer requirements in a timely manner.
M-Thur. 6:30am-5pm.
