Fire/Security Alarm Installation Technicians for immediate openings Job Opening in austin, Texas - Fire/Security Alarm Installation Technicians for immediate openings Tradestar is looking for Level I and II Fire and Security Alarm technicians. A Texas license is preferable but not required. Candidates must be licenseable at a minimum. We have immediate temp to hire opportunities for the right person! See below for job description and qualifications Level I -- Capable of installing support structures (J-hooks, bridle rings, slings, etc.), pulling cable in all support structures including conduit. Basic exposure to the installation and termination of security or fire alarm devices including Motion detectors, Door strikes, Mag-locks, Glass breaks, Closed Circuit Cameras, Smoke detectors, ROR, ducts, horn strobes, pull stations. Some exposure to blue print reading Level II -- License required. Capable of all cable and device installation, reading prints, determining cable paths, walk-throughs, and client interaction. For Fire alarm, familiar with AHJ, circuit testing and troubleshooting with VOM. For security, must be capable of installing Locks, Cut and install strikes, mag-locks, motion detectors, panic bars, DPS, power transfer hinges, glass breaks, etc. Exposure to medium size video surveillance and access control systems. Able to program alarm panels. Capable of leading a crew of 3-5 technicians on small to medium size jobs. Duties: * Prepares for security/fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders; gathering equipment, supplies, and tools; coordinating schedules with customers. * Plans security/fire alarm installations by surveying and evaluating location; identifying alarm installation requirements; laying-out equipment and wiring plan. * Establishes security/fire alarm system by installing equipment; running and pulling wiring; programming and calibrating equipment; adhering to codes, regulations, and standards. * Verifies security/fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals; identifying and correcting problems. * Maintains records by documenting installation. * Maintains customer rapport by resolving concerns; answering questions. * Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices; keeping security information confidential. * Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt. * Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications. * Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
