Regional Sales Manager- Southeast Job Opening in Columbia, South carolina - JOB SUMMARY: The Regional Sales Manager will be a member of our field sales team and focus on developing business opportunities and relationships with existing/new customers with the goal of growing new machine, automated assembly systems, spare parts and consumable copper sales. The successful candidate will be technically oriented with strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Included will be direct business development activities including, but not limited to, sales prospecting, inquiry handling & data collection, presentations, quoted project follow-up, coordination of Product Group meeThe Regional Sales Manager will be a member of our field sales team and focus on developing business opportunities and relationships with existing/new customers with the goal of growing new machine, automated assembly systems, spare parts and consumable copper sales. The successful candidate will be technically oriented with strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Included will be direct business development activities including, but not limited to, sales prospecting, inquiry tings with new/existing customers. The candidate will interface regularly with multiple internal Product Groups to help facilitate sales growth.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop new business opportunities and inquiries for internal Product Groups including resistance welding, induction heating, automated assembly, material handling, spare parts and consumable copper sales
Gather customer technical data and specifications for proposals to be prepared by internal Product Group personnel
Follow-up on proposals created by internal Product Groups and respond to customer questions/inquiries
Facilitate customer meetings, plant visits and data collection with Product Group personnel
Track projects from inception through the selling cycle to closure
Attend regional association meetings, trade shows and other industrial group marketing events
Interface with internal Marketing Group to increase sales opportunities in territory
Continually position Taylor-Winfield as the supplier of choice for new projects
Achieve territorial sales goals and objectives
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor?s degree, post-secondary technical certification or equivalent work experience.
5+ years? technical industrial capital equipment sales experience .
Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings.
Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
Domestic travel required; approximately 70 - 80% of time
Self-starter who is able to work in a fast paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Manufacturing and machine automation and controls experience
5+ years? industrial sales experience .
