Alliance Medical Group in Stevens Point is in need of Medical Assistants/Scribes to join our growing practice. We have Part-Time and Full-time positions available.
This position requires the ability to work at a fast pace, be extremely detail-oriented and organized. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
The Scribes are responsible for assisting the medical providers by recording all findings during the patient's examination in the electronic patient record. Completes encounter forms, medication prescription forms and recall information.
What we offer:
Starting Hourly Rate: $14.80 to $18.50 per hour based upon education, experience, and full-time status.
Quarterly bonuses after six months of full-time employment (34 + hours a week average), based upon performance, attendance and peer-review evaluations.

Work collaboratively with physicians and physician assistants
Work in a great office environment
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist medical providers with patients
Work up patients to include vitals, history of present illness, medical history
Document, in patients? record, the physician findings of the examination
Records billing information of the exam for proper financial processing
Escort patients from patient reception area to the exam area; may be required to assist patients with walking or by pushing wheelchairs.
Accurately fill out and complete all information during the course of exam ( consent forms, medication prescription forms, lab order forms)
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees
Ensure provider?s clinical areas are stocked
Address patient calls, triaging emergent calls and determining appropriate scheduling protocol for the situation, completing patient medication refill requests, completing FMLA paperwork, scheduling and prior authorization for testing/referrals
Inform provider(s) when diagnostic studies are completed, prepare for review, and document in EMR.
Exhibit excellent listening skills.
Concentrate on the needs of the provider(s) throughout entire shift.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understanding of medical terminology.
Demonstrates knowledge of proper, safe, efficient usage of office equipment, computers, and software; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Minimum typing speed 55 wpm.
Multi-task efficiently and effectively as required.
Work under pressure, within time constraints. Must be able to act calmly and effectively in a busy or stressful situation.
Exhibit excellent listening skills.
Concentrate on the needs of the provider(s) throughout entire shift.
Understand and observe legal concepts (e.g. HIPAA, confidentiality).
Maintain professional appearance (uniform as specified) and conduct at all times.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff and management.
Writing Skills ? knowledge and demonstration of proper grammar and spelling in documentation, ability to write concisely, clearly and logically. Exhibit legible hand-writing.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team (be self-directed, energetic, motivated, driven, helpful).
Preferred Qualifications:
Sophomore level in college (or higher)
Certified Medical Assistants, LPN, RNs interested in gaining experience before professional school.
Degrees in the Sciences, Biology and/or Pre-health track preferred (aspirations to become a MD, DO, PA, NP, PT, Nurse etc). Anatomy, physiology, medical terminology courses are highly desired in individuals with non-science degrees preferred.
GPA 3.5 or above preferred.
55 wpm or greater preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Lifting up to 40 pounds.
Constant typing and data entry with real time auditory discrimination from dictation.
